What the extension processes

On a public Google Scholar profile page, the extension reads the visible profile name, author lists, publication metadata, years, and citation values needed to identify authorship roles, highlight papers, filter results, and calculate the metrics you request.

How data is used and stored

Author matching, filtering, metrics, and screenshots are processed locally. When a shortened author list prevents a last-author decision, the extension may send a public DOI or arXiv identifier, a selected public publication title and year, or the public profile name directly to the OpenAlex API. After resolving an OpenAlex author, it may request works using that OpenAlex identifier and the publication years visible on the page. If an exact identifier is still unresolved, the extension may send only that public arXiv identifier to the arXiv API, or that public DOI to the Crossref and DataCite APIs, to retrieve the ordered author list for the same publication. The extension does not send the Scholar profile identifier, citation values, screenshots, or browsing history to these metadata providers, and these requests do not pass through the developer's servers.

Confirmed author and last-author matches are cached with chrome.storage.localto reduce repeat requests and expire automatically. Display preferences, such as selected filters and name highlighting, are stored with chrome.storage.sync so the interface can remember your choices. Chrome may synchronize those preferences through your signed-in Chrome profile, depending on your browser settings. They do not contain profile or publication data and are not available to the developer. The current year range is kept only for the page session.

Screenshots

A screenshot is captured only after you select the Share Screenshot control. The image and optional attribution footer are prepared locally, then copied or downloaded only when you choose that action. The extension does not upload screenshots.

What is not collected

The extension has no account system, advertising, or analytics and does not sell personal data. It does not send profile or publication data to the developer and does not record profile visits, sharing activity, or review behavior. Scholarly-metadata enrichment is used only for authorship analysis.

Product website analytics

This product website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure aggregate page visits, referral sources, device categories, countries or regions, and page performance. This privacy-focused service does not use cookies or collect personal data. Website analytics are separate from the extension: the extension does not send Google Scholar profile or publication data to Cloudflare or the developer.

Control and deletion

You can remove locally cached authorship matches and stored preferences by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension. Chrome's own sync controls govern any synchronized preference copy. Screenshots you download are files under your control and can be deleted like any other local file.

Chrome Web Store policy

Use of information obtained from Google Scholar pages is limited to providing the extension's user-facing authorship analysis, filtering, metrics, and explicit screenshot-sharing features, in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy and its Limited Use requirements.
