Does it change my Google Scholar profile?
No. It changes only how public profile pages appear in your browser. It does not edit your Scholar account or publication data.
Where is my publication data processed?
Core author matching and metrics run locally. When Scholar shortens an author list, the extension may send a selected public title and year, or the public profile name, directly to OpenAlex to check the missing last-author role. These requests do not pass through the developer’s servers.
Which Google Scholar sites are supported?
The extension supports the main Google Scholar domain and regional Scholar domains used around the world.
Why can a name or last-author role be missed?
When Google Scholar shortens an author list with an ellipsis, Author Highlighter checks OpenAlex for a high-confidence match and adds the last-author role only when multiple publications confirm the author identity. It leaves uncertain papers unchanged. A name may also be missed when its abbreviation does not match the profile or Other names (alias) list.
Is screenshot attribution required?
No. The share preview includes a small attribution footer by default, and you can turn it off before copying or downloading.
